Most unusual characters can be directly entered without any problems.

If you do encounter problems, try using HTML character entities. A common example looks like & for an ampersand & character. For a full list of entities see HTML's entities page. Some of the available characters include:

Character DescriptionYou TypeYou Get
Ampersand&&
Greater than>>
Less than<<
Quotation mark""
• Every email address in the input text will be replaced with its ascii equivalent.
• Images can be added to this post.
• Flash Filter

There are two options for you to choose from:

1. [flash:filename.swf]
2. [flash_link:filename.swf]

The first one will try to display flash file inline and only if it fit's to your flash_filter general settings then it will be rendered inline otherwise an icon will be rendered. The second example will add a small icon with a link to a single page where Flash movie will be displayed.

You can forward extra parameters to any movie or icon. Those parameters will override flash_filter default's. Movie width and height parameters are detected automatically.

[flash:filename.swf name="sample" title="My Flash" loop="false" bgcolor"#FF0000"]
Flash Filter will accept following parameters:

• align - (l, t, r, b)
• bgcolor - (#RRGGBB, hexadecimal RGB value)
• height - decimal value or percentage
• loop - (true, false)
• menu - (true, false)
• name - short string to use as refference
• play - (true, false)
• quality - (low, high, autolow, autohigh, best )
• salign - (l, t, r, b, tl, tr, bl, br)
• scale - (showall, noborder, exactfit)
• swliveconnect - (true, false)
• title - short string to assign title under an icon object
• width - decimal value or percentage
• wmode - (window, opaque, transparent)

For more detailed information about each parameter please visit Macromedia web-site and look for Flash OBJECT and EMBED tag attributes

Additionally you can pass flashvars via following syntax, name attribute is used as refference:

[flash:file.swf name="sample_name"]
[flashvars:sample_name VAR1=customer support&VAR2=tomsys&VAR3=landline&VAR4=+44 20 8123 5754]

Accordingly in Flash you will get those four variables: _root.VAR1, _root.VAR2, _root.VAR3, _root.VAR4

• Smartypants Help
